Great Way to Capture the Precious Gift Before & After

We recently had the pleasure of doing another new mom prior to having the baby and then again after the miraculous event!! What a great joy.. To see the women glowing a few weeks prior to birth – get their hair and makeup done – is such an exhilarating feeling for both the new mom and staff here. Then into the studio for the pregnant pics.. How beautiful and what a great way to celebrate being a woman.

As now a grandma with my 3^rd grandbaby due (will have 2 girls and a boy) I now understand why a woman should feel beautiful during this time… It was hard to see younger women flaunt their bellies, but now, after the shock of it – I certainly see how stunningly beautiful they can be for intimate pictures for the family.

 

 

Then in a few weeks, we get to see the new dynamics of the new arrival with dad and mom, and maybe a Grandma or Granddad! To see the new baby handled with such care by the new mom and dad… And for us to be able to see the newborn as they are in the first weeks of life – wrinkly and yet pliable – is great for capturing the infant experience.

We combine all these into a beautiful boo k of memories for the new mom and dad.. What a great way to remember the milestones of your life… If you are having a baby or know someone who is, we would love to be your Maternity  Moments Photographer.

 

A Big Thank You to Nashville from NNPhotography

A big Thank You to all who stopped by and met us at the Southern Women’s Show at the Nashville Convention Center April 8-11. What an event! We were also the official photographers, so we were quite busy capturing the essence of the event! It was quite an honor to do this, since it was two years ago when I did my first Southern Women’s Show, and had to pull everything I had together to do it! In 2010, my 3^rd year to participate in the Southern Women’s Show & to be the official photographer - was quite an honor!

So many wonderful women stopped by and gave us feedback on what a great idea NNPhotography is! I knew there was a need for a safe place for women to be able to take intimate, yet tasteful and romantic images. I hope you had a chance to also meet the great women who work with me – Angee, Sarah and Shantel who were also at the booth and share the vision with me of what this service we offer can do for women

This year, adding the professional makeup to all our sessions adds another dimension to the images and the experience. In the coming months we will be working on explaining more and more about Alter Ego Shoots and BFF parties – new and different photographic services for the Nashville area. We want all women to know about these services and be able to find us & take advantage of all we have to offer!

We also did the Executive Assistant Day today for the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, meeting many great women there. We also do great business and social networking images & head shots, getting the images ready for print and web use, along with the rights to all the images.

 

We are booking many BFF Parties, and working with women on their Alter Ego Photoshoots pics!  Spread the word about what we are doing here in downtown Nashville!!  Check out links above to find out  more about these unique concepts in photography!

BFF Party a great success!

NNPhotography launched its first BFF Party – Boudoir, Friends and Fun on Friday night with another one this coming Friday night.  There is another booked for March.  The goal is to get great friends together, and let girls be girls!  It’s almost like a night of playing dressup, but for adults!  Girls just wanna have fun was definetly the theme for the night.  We partnered with the Little Black Dress Club (www.lbdclub.com) to work with a great, diverse group of women to test our process and concept.  And what a night we had!

The women have wine, chocolate (Shout Out to Chocolate Graphics in the Arcade for some great Chocolate pieces – like the chocolate lipstick seen here), other consumable goodies, while playing dress up with their friends!  The women will receive professionally applied makeup, receive a half hour photo shoot, and then get to see a sampling of their photos that night.  They will all be asked to pick out 2 of the photos to share with the group – so there is individualized attention, as well as many memories being made with your special group! 

I was on a high the next day, still thinking of all the fun the women had the night before!!

Boudoir, Friends and Fun – An alternative to a Bachelorette party!

 

What is a BFF Party? Boudoir, Friends and Fun! We have created a great way to experience the fabulous photos that we take with your friends and an experience you will not forget. If you are the “Hostess” you get you photo shoot for free. You will coordinate your friends, with our assistance, to keep your party organized.

We will supply Wine, Cheese and Chocolates, movies and makeup! You supply your friends and a great time is had by all! Each friend will receive a photo shoot of at least 40 edited photos, consisting of 2 outfits. The total experience is approximately 3 hours, but will provide a memory that you will all cherish forever!

These are great for bachelorette parties and special birthday parties if you are looking for something new and special to do with your special friends. We only schedule a few of these a month, so start planning now!

Well, I was at “Imaging USA”  with PPA, Professional Photographers of American here in Nashville at the Gaylord Opryland Complex with over 9,000 other photographers.   Boudoir Photography, women’s photography – whatever it is called – is certainly on its way to becoming a new phenom! I am so happy to see that this type of photography is now becoming accepted by women of all ages and sizes! The goal is to give you an experience, and the fact that you get great products, with great images of you is a plus. Making you look and feel like a model will only boost your self confidence and self esteem. I have always known that it is what’s inside that counts, but also know that I walk taller and smile more when I know I look good. This is what we do – we make you see yourself and how good you really are!  But Boudoir Photography is the next new thing, and I am glad to be here and this is all we do!  I am glad that we have gotten this head start, for there is going to be many new entree  s into this foray!

Hearing other photographers who do this – it was exactly what I experience here in Nashville with women not knowing where they can go do this – they always wanted to, or didn’t really know that they could look like this.. Women

are also curious about what they look like but have never had the chance to see it – like what do you really look like on a bed – waiting for your partner and love to join you!

New Year – New Nashville NNPhotography (aka Nearly Naughty-Photos with a little heat!)

Nearly Naughty – Photos with a little heat! is now NNPhotography – More than just photos. Why the change? We are doing such great work, and apparently the word “naughty” offends certain people. I had always considered “naughty” a fun word, but apparently that is not the case everywhere. I just didn’t want women & couples to be biased in a negative way since we are doing very positive self esteem work. After working with 300+ amazing women that ”got it”, I knew we are not reaching all the people that we should.

The new tagline came to me after we did a shoot with a young 25 year old teacher from a small town about 2 hours from Nashville. She drove in after work, and after a trying drive to the city, she was exhausted. But she sat down, got her makeup professionally applied and just stared at herself with glee- knowing now how beautiful she is, and never knew it. She just sat there, stared, and said “I really am beautiful”…. She and I went in to do the photo shoot, and she took some amazing photos. She was going to send them to a soldier oversea. I knew she would be pleased with the outcome. Before she left, she hugged me and said “You do so much more here than just photos”. I shuddered inside, for this was the vision of the company I w  anted to build. I knew I had my tagline for the new image of the company!

I will be blogging once or twice a month with anonymous stories of amazing women that come across the NNPhotography path. These stories will likely raise more questions and thus the dialogue begins. My hope is that it unfolds like a Carrie Bradshaw entry into her Mac.

As an example, my unofficial, unscientific, non-statistical survey of my customers – what they think of themselves and what they think their significant others think about the same things. For example, most women say their man likes their booty, bum, butt -whatever your choice of words for that part of the female anatomy. And most women are not happy with theirs. I have come to the conclusion that to their man, it really doesn’t matter how big or how small. It’s just what they men like... What does all that mean? Does this have anything to do with their mothers? Does anyone have an answer?!! LOL!!
